John A Kent joined was a Canadian National who joined the RAF in 1935.
He began his 'association' with Polish pilots during the Battle of Britain when he was the C/O of 
303 (Kosciuszko) Squadron and became the first Canadian Wing Leader when he led the Polish Wing 
(#303, 308 and 315 (Polish) Squadrons from June to August 1941.
As a Wing Commander he enjoyed the 'privilage of rank' by having his initials JAK painted in sky
on the side of his aircraft.
The emblem was a green Canadian Mapel leaf with a white Polish Eagle.
